First JCI World Congress with no carbon footprint
In 2014, for the first time the JCI World Congress will leave no carbon footprint behind. Carbon dioxide will be emitted when carrying out the World Congress. There are no actions that can be taken in advance to avoid all of the emissions. However, carbon offsetting is to be achieved by means of compensatory mitigation measures. The JCI World Congress wants to contribute to the UN millennium development goal “Ensure environmental sustainability” – being a strong partner of JCI.
The topic of sustainability will also appear during the Congress. Together with our innovative partners, we want to show to the approx. 5,000 international experts and leaders and potential investors from around the world, what is possible today in terms of climate protection and why Germany is a pioneer when it comes to energy and sustainability issues.
German Jaycees, companies and partners committed to a carbon-neutral World Congress by means of a crowdfunding campaign together with our crowdfunding pioneer and partner VisionBakery.
Thanks to all supporters of our Crowdfunding for the first JCI World Congress with no carbon footprint
